Zero blunders · six-move search · Game IQ scoring
This AI doesn't just get harder — it gets honest. Here's exactly what you're up against, and how your own play gets measured along the way.
Most "hard mode" computer opponents are really just normal play with a few mistakes removed. Its hardest tier, Ultimate, is built differently: it plays with a zero percent blunder rate and searches six moves deep before choosing, in all three practice games. There's no ramping up. It plays at full strength from the first move.
In simulated testing, strong computer opponents won fewer than 3 games in 100 against this hardest tier in its final match — and when a loss was coming either way, the AI was tuned to give up as little as possible rather than gamble. That's the bar the ladder is built around.
Every move you make is scored against the best move actually available in that position — not just win or lose, but how close to perfect each choice was. It builds into a private profile across six skills: Attack, Defence, Space, Planning, Tempo and Traps. These numbers are yours alone. They are never published or compared against anyone else.
Brandubh, Bagh Chal and Amazons are free to practice against this AI at five difficulty levels, from forgiving to Ultimate. Clear all six stations on the ranked ladder and a fourth game, kept hidden until then, waits at the top — played only against Māra himself.
